Udayagiri & Khandagiri Caves
These are historically significant rock-cut shelters dating back to the 1st century BCE, famously commissioned by King Kharavela for Jain ascetics and featuring intricate carvings. The caves are a treasure trove of early Indian art and architecture, notably housing the important Hathi Gumpha (Elephant Cave) inscription.
